Like the PB70 1.2k, the DPB70-2.5k produces a parallel, 2° beam with a 70cm (2.3') diameter. The big difference here is doubling the output at 2.5k. The light excels in efficiency and unprecedented homogeneity within the very bright, very tight beam. These qualities are prerequisites for all Dedolights and are essential for success with the Lightstream lighting system. This offering comes with a ballast recommended by Dedolight. Built by Film Gear, the recommended ballast has a 300Hz and 1000Hz high-speed switch.

This light redefines expectations of an HMI. At 15', it meters around 225,000 lux and, unlike a large Xenon, it can operate in nearly any position without heating issues. It's IP63 rated for indoor/outdoor use in mild rain conditions. The beam's straightness creates a "virtual" light source, making the light appear as if it is set much further away. For example, using a large Lightstream #1 reflector, users can simulate a beam of sunlight through a window, traditionally requiring a Condor and larger HMI sources. If using the light on a stage, the type of beam created would appear as if you had a larger light source set well outside the walls/ceiling of the stage. In essence, you are collapsing the distances needed to make beams of sunlight otherwise generated by larger and more costly setups (permits, etc.). The magic in this light head is its ability to defy the square law, something that makes reflecting and bouncing light a much more powerful prospect. You'll feel like a wizard using it.
